Evening all
Would love it if we could turn these over, especially that overactive goon Arteta. We are up against it and obviously there is a massive eye on next Thursday, but if they go all inconsistent on us and we create enough chances and have our shooting boots on who knows, we might be able to nick something.

I expect a lot of play acting, time wasting and general cheating if they are winning - that Lego headed cunt Arteta has made them into a hateful football team.
Can’t see anything other than a beating but would fucking love to do them and get back to 6th.

No Dawson, Zouma should be rested. Wolves lost, with Chelsea, Man City and Liverpool to play (+ Narwich), so 7th is highly likely even if we lose all of our remaining games.
I'd play the fringe players and kids

I'm now finding these 'who plays' dilemmas before an important European game very nauseating. It really is a genuine problem, more so if league positions are still important. The likes of City/Liverpool/Chelsea can cope, we and some others can't. Moyes is kind of damned if he does, damned if he doesn't, it's difficult. Looks like we will be in Europe next season too.
Fwiw, I don't think we can go into another London derby weak, I remember the days when they use to mean a lot. Also, think you are more obligated to go for it when at home.
Would fucking love to beat these wankers, a draw would be okay though.

Gonna get tonked and before the teams are announced, 8/11 on arsenal looks absolutely massive considering they always win at our place and we'll be sticking out a bigger skeleton team than against Chelsea.
All about Thursday, today's game means fuck all in the scheme of things sadly.

I agree Thursday bigger game but after we lost first leg think we could do with a confidence boosting win here. Plus we can catch Man Utd.
Play rice / Bowen and Antonio and take all of them off when we have the game won
A win will give everyone a lift today

We seem to have had minimal luck against Arsenal in recent years.
Plenty of games where we have probably been the better team but they've managed to win somehow.
A chance as said to give Mike Dean a farewell.

This game isn't season defining, a free hit, save every last bit of energy ready for Thursday and if that doesn't work out the way we want it, we will have 3 games to go with a team that has had a break and should be able to get at least 4 points from the last 3 games, giving us 7th.

I’m split. Part of me says rest the stars, but another part of me thinks we haven’t looked particularly sharp the matches after we’ve tested players.
Sooner rest them against Norwich and if we get past Frankfurt, rest them against Man City.
I think I’m leaning towards going for it today. A win vs Arsenal would probably boost us more than a bit of rest.
I hope Noble gets to play a decent part at some point today, because this will be the last time I see him play, unless he plays in Seville and I blag a ticket.

To progress as a club on the footballing side I don’t mind the excuse of ‘the players were tired, we need a bigger squad with depth to cover playing on four fronts in a season’
If we make do we’ll always be a short term competitor at the top end…..
